Quality management

Oriola operates in a regulated market. The company’s quality management is based on laws and regulatory requirements applicable in the pharmaceutical sector, as well as Oriola’s common management system, which provides a framework for common operating and governance practices. The common management system is built to comply with the laws and regulatory requirements applicable in the pharmaceutical sector as well as on quality management standards, especially ISO 9001 and Good Distribution Practice (GDP).

Our operations regarding the warehousing and distribution of pharmaceuticals, healthcare products and consumer goods, as well as the performance of services and logistics for clinical trials, have been certified according to ISO 9001 in both Finland and Sweden. Also, our dose-dispensing operations have ISO 9001 certification in Sweden.

Pharmaceutical distribution and wholesale are regulated by the GDP of the European Medicines Agency (EMA). In our operating countries, compliance with the GDP is monitored by the Finnish Medicines Agency Fimea and by the Swedish Medical Products Agency (MPA). GDP defines the common rules of handling pharmaceuticals. Where applicable, our operations are also guided by the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulation concerning products that come under regulatory control, such as food and cosmetics.
